Purple silk dress

Did you know: currently, the only way to know for sure if a woman has ovarian cancer is to perform surgery. There is no simple sure-fire test.

So many people said nice things about today's dress. It IS pretty cheerful! That's why I wore it last Christmas. If you look really closely, my nail polish matches :-)

Grandma's dress no. 1 at Kawakawa Bay

Did you know: About 35% of women with ovarian cancer are less than 55 years old.

Today was a great day. I went to the Clevedon farmer's market, got some lovely food, and made an awesome dinner.

I also wore one of my favourite old polyester dresses that I, ahem, borrowed from Grandma. I love this one SO MUCH. And I wore it to Kawakawa Bay, where I had lunch after the market. Beautiful day.
*update* "Some" people didn't like my photo skills and said that I looked like I only had one leg in the photo, so I've done a little photo-editing such that you can clearly see a) the dress, and b) two legs. Personally, I thought seeing me in silhouette would be preferable ;-)

Peacock dress - and a shop for you to visit

Did you know: 70% of women are not diagnosed until the cancer has already spread to other organs.

The dress: just a cheapy from an import store in Onehunga. I love it though, so summery! And today was the first sunshine I've seen in ages.

Please check out my friend Crystal's site for some sexy dresses - http://www.madmendresses.com/
They have gorgeous vintage-style dresses and accessories, and for the month of October they're donating 5% of sales to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. Thanks Crystal!
